Driverside Mirror Spaz Attack

Breaker 1-9, anybody got a copy? Any discussion or mods relating to electrons and wires go here.

As the title states the driverside mirror likes to spaz out, every once in a while, when I unlock the car with the remote. I know that there are settings for driver 1 and 2 so I made them both the same since I'm the only one who drives it. Yet it still freaks.

What is the real problem here?

Electrical gremlin... you broke two of the three rules, you obviously got your Mogwai wet and fed it after midnight.

I know from first hand experience loose/corroded grounds cause all sorts of wierd problems

What exactly do you mean by "spaz out"?
Does it do it when you push the unlock button and that's the only time?
Does it adjust normal with the switch?
Gotta be a lot more specific to get help.
May also want to try gmtnation since there are a lot more experiences over there.

Well-known problem with aging mirrors due to poorly-sealed position feedback sensors. You can upgrade the mirrors or disable the function, but I'm not actually certain how to disable the function without also killing the power remote function.

GM got so sick of warranty and extended warranty expenses due to this issue they ended up changing the BCM software in later years of the two-driver memory function to quit adjusting the mirrors.

I appreciate guys. I'm probably going to upgrade and throw on some larger mirrors for towing.

I had a problem where, even though both memory functions were set the same, it'd move every time I unlocked. Found a way to disable it by going through some of the DIC settings. So if you have the DIC on your truck, you may be able to disable the memory feature.
