MOD: Hella 500FFs w/HIDs mounted on WAAG

Breaker 1-9, anybody got a copy? Any discussion or mods relating to electrons and wires go here.

Well, I finally got around to getting lights put on my WAAG. I opted for the Hella 500FFs for a couple of reasons: a. Price; b. available locally (Pep Boys, Walmart, etc); and c. everything I've read says that the FF (FreeForm) reflectors are pretty sick!

Since they are an H3 bulb, and I still had 2 H3C HID kits lying around, I decided to put one in. And boy am I happy I did!!!

Here's a couple pics...

Hellas and Fogs... BRIGHT!!!!

All current front lights... BRIGHTER!!!

:awesome: Looks good. Now you got me wanting to finally mount the Pro Comp lights i picked up. I was trying to wai til I got a front bumper, but all that extra light would be great for the dark dreary winter.
I hate to advocate weird chemicals, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...but
they've always worked for me.

Wow those Hellas really do peer down the road a ways! Just don't accidentally turn them on while someone's coming towards you!

How far away were the trees at the end?

Those lights look great for late night woods driving. You're right though, there isn't much light up close to the vehicle. That idea you have should work well.

The trees are only about 1/10th of a mile away... I'm still looking to find a better test/aim location...

And yes, not much light up close... which is not really a problem, the low beams fill that area up nicely.

Hellas I got at the evil Wal, $68... The HID kit I have had for a while... got them from a vendor on the OS. They are the H3C bulbs, MUCH smaller then the regular H3 HID bulbs, in order to fit lights like these.

Pep Boys also carries these Hellas, as well as the 700FFs... which are a 7" overall... but in random stores. I might still upgrade to the 700FFs in the near future and use the 500s elsewhere.

What is your spacing like between the lights and side of the push bar? What are you thinking about using for your wide pattern?
