side mount lighting

I know I saw part of this in a thread somewhere, but can't seem to find it. I'm trying to side mount a light in front of the mirrors. I got an underhood cb mount which could come off the bolt for the hood, but only with a small metal extension. I'll probably end up fabbing something soldered together just to figure out a design before trying to weld something together. Just curious if anyone else has had any luck getting something to work?
