Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Rear Clearance Lights Installed

Breaker 1-9, anybody got a copy? Any discussion or mods relating to electrons and wires go here.

by Gordinho80 » Tue Jan 31, 2012 6:16 pm

I wanted to get some extra lighting for the bumper and I came across these little round flush mount LEDs. I figured they would look awesome at the rear of the roof rails hooked up to parking lights. Something to make me more visible to other vehicles.

Wired them in today...

I think you might get some copy cats on this one. Well done, Mario.

Now we need night pics!

I thought about doing that too, but I'm going to be putting in a 6" oval LED tails into the bumper (PARK/STOP/BRAKE). That would really be all the lights I need in the rear.... plus some aux reverse lights which are in planning as well.

I'll be outside later to get a couple night time shots.

For the rear park/stop/brake lights, you will need to tie off of the trailer wiring since our turns and brakes are different circuits to the tail lights.

Did you take any wiring and routing pics?

No write up on the front lights... but here's the link. viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1295&hilit=roof

No wiring or routing pics. I removed the 3 rear rail bolts. I drilled the holes into the back of the rails and ran wire through each hole. I then ran the wires under the rails and down the outside rear glass seal. You can't see ANY wiring at all unless you're really looking for it. Once the wire reaches the end of the seal, it loops under the tail light. I tapped into the black & brown wire on the driver side, black & brown/white on the passenger side. They come on with parking, no brake or turn.
