CB Radio

Breaker 1-9, anybody got a copy? Any discussion or mods relating to electrons and wires go here.

Well was talking to my step dad about picking up a CB radio for my TB. Low and behold a few days later a box from him shows up. He sent me his old realistic trc-419. Problem is I cant find anything about it online and only thing He sent was the radio and mic. I found a service manual but not a owners/operators manual. Has a red, orange and black wire. Im guessing red is hot, orange is switched and black ground? All I can find about it is its cheap lol. But hey if it works it was free so why not? Plus being he sent it to me Id hate to not use it and hurt his feelings. Im only using it to talk to other trucks I am off road with. Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure about it, but that is cool of him to give it to you and that you are gonna at least try to use it.

they've always worked for me.

Yeah if it works why not right? Plus he went to the trouble to box it up and send it from Michigan just cause I said I wanted 1. So is only right to give it a shot. Ill try to call radio shack customer service tomorrow since it seems to be theirs. Maybe they can send me a manual through email or something for it.

Best I could come up with...

http://www.cbtricks.com/radios/realisti ... /index.htm

Looks like you need a 2A fuse on the red and 1A on the orange. That says to me that you're right on the wiring.

I haven't been able to locate one in any of my normal places either. There is a couple of CB groups on yahoo groups. You could try to contact Radio Shack and see if they can come up with anything. They use to have a bunch of old manuals that could be downloaded.
