I hate it trying to look out the back at night with the factory tint. Unless I'm right up on something where the reverse lights can light it up, I can't see a thing. That's why I took off my tire carrier for now, didn't want to risk backing that thing into someone if it was a tight spot. I definitely plan on hooking up a rearview camera as soon as I can spring to buy one.

On a s10 I had as a teenager I hooked a single driving light up under the rear that I wired into my reverse lights. It lit up A LOT brighter and covered alot of ground. Was like backing up in the day time. I plan on doing this to my TB as well as a removable rear roof light system Ive been working through in my head.

I'm running dual kc 55 watt rectangle backup lights, makes a big difference unless your windows and mirrors are dirty.

rear lights is on my short list of mods next.
I'm debating getting some LED. They are pricy but should allow me to use them fishing for several hours without worrying about too much about battery drain as well as helping to see when backing up.
I think I would go with two in the back and one on each side angled back like I saw another member do.

The two in the back and one on each side would seem the best option Chris, whenever I get around to doing the rear lights, that's probably what I'm looking at. Since I've gotten it lifted, definitely seeing how they are beneficial.

I have been looking at lighting also and would prefer to go with LEDs. Here is what I have come across Rigid, I like the size but not sure of the light output. They have the spot beams and in amber.

On Autolumination.com I found some if you scroll down about mid page http://autolumination.com/truck.htm a little less but not sure of the quality Image

I've seen the Rigid's in person at a night run that my club had back in July, and I must say they were crazy good. Lit the trail up like daytime and will not strain the battery. He had as his windshield lights, and not sure whether they were flood/spot/ or the driving lights, but I would def drop the coin on them if/when I need some more lighting.

Now that is what I was hoping to hear, They have a demonstrator at 4wheel parts but we all know how that can be setup in the stores.

thanks for the link Larry, that seems like good lights at a good price.
The ones I had been looking at are a little more. Here is one that is similar to their $50 light.

NorthernTool has a light for $35 but it only has 340lumens.
This might work on the rear for backup/fishing lights.

Split this off to its own topic and not hijack the build thread comments. I figured we might want to keep it going. :)

Not rezzing an old thread on purpose, I just knew that there was a thread for exterior lighting. I was wondering if anybody here have any experience with the quality of the Hella Micro FF Cubes?

Not the FF series, but I really like their DE series. Not that it exactly equates...

I've have had great luck with Hella lights, and will continue going back to them.

You turned me onto the Hella FFs a couple years ago James. I'm also happy with them. Wondering if they'll get wonky with HIDs put into them though. I can't nicely run a large enough wire to the roof to support 4 100w halogens.

I've had HIDs in my 500FFs for some time, granted, I've had them off the vehicle for a while now, but they will be going back on shortly. I've had no issues with them. I got the H3C kit, as they are a much smaller profile H3 base bulb.

I hooked up some cheap Walmart driving lights as reverse lights for the time being, also put a switch in so I can turn them on as work lights as well. Will probably replace with LED's later on, but it works alright for now.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I appreciate it. I'm working on a mounting set up and a bar that connects into the bumper cover bolts until I get a bumper at some point in the future and I was looking at the low profile lighting available. With the reviews from you guys, I'm sold on the Hella brand.

How effecient do you guys think it would be to add a white led strip to the top brake light wired in with the reverse lights (probably not very helpful since the lense cover is red)
