Again... Cody_S has an Envoy. The stock reverse lights are located on the bumper, not as part of the taillight assembly.

Looking at ordering up a set of the micro cubes this weekend. The question that I'm asking myself is 2 vs 4. Leaning towards the 2 but I *could* fit 4 since they are smaller. decisions decisions.

Basically, they will be run across a bar infront of the grille, I've got a set of brackets that I am going to finish up at work this coming week. It's about a 21 inch span, each light is roughly 4.75 inches wide. The way they will be set up, the lights would be positioned in front of the crossbar, so air flow shouldn't be too bad. Eventually down the road I will get a mdb bumper as well, and I'm going to swap the bar over to that, but that isn't for a good while now.

Here's an idea of what I'm looking at. Keep in mind that the lights may be a bit bigger than in reality. Yay for crummy photoshop skills. Just used an old pic, so bracket and bar aren't there yet.

Personally I would go with 2 centered between the bow tie and the headlight.

I think that's the better option. I went and did some searching on lighting laws here in Illinois, not in my favor for the 4. Plus taking a look back at the two pics, the 4 looks a bit odd.

JIC anybody wants to know, the law in Illinois specifies that you can't have more than 3 aux driving lights, min height is 12 in and max is 42 in. Also, no more than 4 forward facing lights may be on at one time.

The no more than 4 lights thing is a sticker, With quad headlights (highs and lows together) you cant legally even run the factory driving lights.

Ordered up a set of the Hella Micro Cubes. When I get them and they are installed, will let you all know how they are.

Putting in some lights for the rear tomorrow. Got two rectangular lights that I will mount on the roof. I'm still on the fence about what method to use to put them up. For now my plan is slide a piece of steel into the rail using the jb welded nut to the bottom method. I'll use another piece of steel bolted to that on a 90 degree angle inward to the roof. Then have a hole drilled into that and will mount the light in that hole...Hoping it all works well. I'll throw up some pics tomorrow after completion.

Curious, did you mount the lights to the stock bumper or did you do it a different way?

They are mounted on square tubing attached to the bumper cover bolts. that passes through between the bumper and grill

That's clever... I just finished making a bracket and bar system using those same bolts. Simple yet effective on your part. Once my lights come in tomorrow and I have them on the bar and it's all finished up I'll take some pics and post them.

Mounted my lights up on the roof. Just went straight through the stock crossbar until I get a roof rack and I attach it to there. The light pattern is really bright. It's like having my brights on but for the back of the truck. It's just hooked right up to a toggle switch at the front of the truck next to all my other switches. Simple yet affective.
