When I changed my I put some alpine type S speakers in. They were good, just didn't quite sound perfect running the factory headunit and wiring. So I ended up swapping the headunit out and running my own wiring from an amplifier and it sounds awesome. They are good speakers normally, but im used to upgrading my car audio with every vehicle I have owned so just speakers weren't enough for me.

I have that BOSE nightmare, so I am leery about touching anything. My passenger side front speaker likes to crackle too, but when its working it sounds nice. I would like to get an aftermarket in-dash with nav but it looks too much like a headache.

I ripped all that Bose shit out... and yanked the (analog) Onstar while I was at it.

I pulled all of the speakers out and put in 4 pioneer speakers. The install is very easy. You just have to look at a wiring diagram to determine the speaker wire colors for positive and negative.

The Bose system is a nightmare when it comes to aftermarket decks and subwoofers. My driver side tweeter went to shit a few months ago. Just bought some polk audio DXI 350 3.5" coaxials, did a little fab work on the speaker hole,(ground the edges to make it fit) and they sound great.

I got the Polk MM series speakers and I absolutely love those speakers they are MM651 for the fronts and MM6501 for the rears.

Youd love those speakers if you got them, but they are around 500$-600$ for all for doors.

The best way is to run all new wire and bypass the Bose crap all together!
