Hey guys I just got a 130$ cb radio for $40 brand new can't beat that, but now it's bigger than I thought and I'm looking for suggestions on where to place this bulky thing

So where do y'all have yours mounted ? And any pics, I know a few of you have a wireless setup and I won't be going the route for now lol

Good luck with the single DIN I didn't gain as much as I thought I would when I changed out my head unit.

It's the whole radio, minus the mic.

You could always mount it on the door piller between the drivers side front door and divers side rear door. I for that in the past for me that it makes it easyer to hear, and makes it so that its out of the way on everything, leaving more room for you to put other things every where else.

Good idea if it fits...

Well I got the cheap little Corba CB that walmart sells and it really fits there perfect. I would take a pic but that is going to have to wait till I get back home to do that.

It does, however, due to the location of that post, you can't really fold down the rear seat as the radio will prevent it from fitting.
This is an aggressive post. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate a post of this quality and depth.

It don't on mine. Its mounted about where the head rest is on the pillar to the left of the drivers seat. I wish I was there to take a pic for you to see and help you understand.

Has anyone used the overhead compartment for a CB?

I have the overhead storage compartment, just above the armrest. I have no idea what I would use it for. Im thinking if I pull the door off, my cobra 19DXIII (compact) will fit in there nicely. Also with it up high, it should be easy to hear without running a remote speaker.

Pros, cons, ideas?

Only neg would be wire hanging down for mic or mic tumbling out in rocky section. I don't have that so I went by driver knee with cobra all in one unit. Works well.

I have mine mounted to the side of the center console. Where the passengers left knee is. My wires tuck right under and splice into the cig lighter. Have the mic draped across the console to a mount on the dash between the ignition switch and the radio.

While not a CB, I did install a Motorola CDM1550LS+, with remote mount head for fire dept use in my TB.

-Unit mounted in the storage area in the right rear cargo area
-Remote head mounted in coin tray in front of shifter, had to notch out the cupholders
-Low Profile UHF Antenna Mounted to roof
