The belts not an issue anymore, I've searched for the efan cooling on the OS and did not locate anything :(

I am lost as to why there is talk about needing a belt when you instal an Efan kit?????? the stock fan is not spun by a belt, but by a clutch assemble attached to the crank.....is it not?

Agreed, not sure what youre mentioning with a belt?? The point of the electric is that they are not run by a belt therefore creating a little less drain on the engine.

It's pretty well documented that the 98-02 LS1 electric fans work very well on our vehicles.

And btw my fan is fun off the belt hints why I asked about belt size not the crank only, so therefor Need different size belt to cut off the Slack of going around the fan pulley, and thanks bdp

Unless the bell housing thing stays on then I guess the factory belt would do but I don't see why that would stay :?

The OS has MANY discussions about Efans including my $500 failed experiment. I concluded they were not suitable for offroading the places I go. YMMV.

You will lose your water pump if you bypass the fan clutch pulley.

The crankshaft is a different pulley.

I guess I am confused. We're talking about an e-fan that still runs off the belt somehow? Maybe I need a little more :coffee2: this morning.

I think the OP forgot that the fan clutch is attached to the water pump pulley... and that he still needs the water pump even if he uses e-fans.

Or he could get an electric water pump...

One angle I am trying to work is an upgrade in the water pump department to include a smaller diameter pully to up the rotation of the drive shaft for the water pump. Since without needing to bolt the stock fan mount to the pully I will have room to go down in pully size. This is why I am interested as to if anyone is using any mods that use a smaller belt.

Ya I wasn't aware that the bell housing controlled somthingvelse as well as the fan coming through from the shaft, I'm used to pre 95' hondas and toyotas lol with only 3-4 pulleys
