I wanted to post this tonight. I'll make a trip report this coming week. This was taken today at 13,000 feet on County Road 277 near Nathrop, Colorado. I parked the truck just above here and climbed nearby Mt. Antero at 14,275 ft.

I basically can't do anything unless I'm in 4LO when I'm over about 12,500 feet or so offroad. If I'm going uphill, the air pressure along with my 3.42 gearing make for a horrible combination. So, I need 4LO to climb anything offroad. Going downhill is scarier, due to a high altitude + low RPM stall issue that I've been chasing down... and mostly fixed with a new camshaft position sensor. I think the truck has only stalled once this year at altitude.
A lot of people don't realize how thin the air is up there. At 14,275ft yesterday, my barometer was saying 580mbar, which is roughly 58% the pressure of sea level.

Holy shit that's only about 17" hg. Nuts, man. At that altitude pilots are required to have oxygen... someday I'll wheel up there and see what happens

I know an AStar flew to the peak of everest and touched a skid down, but my little 22 ain't going good over 9k with me at the controls...

Gorgeous! You are overlooking my hometown, I grew up in Buena Vista.
I took the kids on a 5k mile road trip last month which included an overnight in Denver and a day trip up the range. We even got stuck in the forest fire traffic around Elk Mountain. It was a good time though. This was just a spur of the moment rerouted day trip, but already have plans in place for next summer my family following my mother and father out there and getting the back country scenic tour. He was an adventure tour guide and the first to commercially raft the Arkansas, so he knows all of the roads above the tree line!

Blacked out the front grille, and spaces between the side windows. Definitely not worthy of its own thread. Also got a stubby antenna. Little things, baby steps. I got a few more things coming, will start prepping it for lift over winter, hopefully spring time. Right now the plan is just 2" lift, 31" tires on stock wheels. That may change if we have a good winter, might get new wheels. Haven't seen anything I really liked yet. Anyways, here is the pic I felt like sharing.
