Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Videography.

Discussion of photos, video, cameras, and post-processing.

I have about 2 years experience of photography but am a newbie to video.

I want to make some videos of my truck when wheeling. My plan was one interior camera and one exterior. For the exterior I have a 8 inch or so tripod for my exterior camera.

For all you with video experience what are some good ways to set up at different obstacles (mud bogs, hill climbs, rocks, etc)? Do similar rules apply as with photography?

Pretty much, it's just a moving picture. It's tougher to frame though, because you don't always have your subject in the frame while you're lining up the shot. Be ready to take like 60 minutes of video and use only 5 minutes of it.

Oh, and shoot plenty of b roll. Videos can't be all action.

What do you mean videos can’t be all action? Does that mean take pictures?

No I just mean some B roll video makes a better overall video. Sometimes B roll is similar to photos, but still videos.
