Request: Picture of TB without rear bumper

Discussion of photos, video, cameras, and post-processing.

by Trail X » Mon Nov 30, 2009 5:05 pm

Does anyone have a picture of their TB without the rear bumper? Maybe also a detail shot of where the rear bumper attaches?

Bill... I think you do. :poke:

(Didn't find any on the OS, figured I should ask here.)

You meant this one?

The bumper is still on... I was hoping someone took a picture with the metal reinforcing bumper removed too.

Ah... ask Bill... His metal bumper is practically removed now that Neil worked his magic on the HitchGate.

Yeah, I've noticed since the trip that there wasn't a build thread or writeup on the swing-away mod... very un-roadie-ish of you. :work:

So James, what are you thinking of doing? The pics from Roadie are rather old ones which makes me believe he was unable to modify his truck properly. Now the question is can you? Whose engineering back ground will apply? :poke:

My bet is on HARDTRAILZ.

What do you mean... Bill hasn't posted half of his mods here yet... So I'd say it's very Roadie-like.

I don't think he's posted his relatively recent hitchgate mods on the OS either though... Or I could just be mistaken. Nobody else tends to post mod updates as promptly as you though James. I, too, am curious what you're planning with the pics though. Rear bumper w/ spare tire carrier and some armor?

All my mods and trail reports from now on get posted here first. I was really hoping to have some sheet metal cover pics by now, but been too busy to go down and have Neil work on it. That and cash flow around the holidays is always tight when you're out of work.

I thought somebody would notice the presence of the resonator in those pics. Way old.

I actually noticed the tire tread first... are those Blizzaks or something? They're really heavily-siped. Or are those the Silent Armors? They don't look like the tread pics on the internet.

Those are the famous Wrangler Silent Armors. Here's their first day, installed with spacers that Mario now owns:

Take advantage. Insurance money is always fun to spend on things better than what you had...

Yes very much so... I was trailering my boat on sunday, and I had a woman start pulling out infront of me expecting me to stop well over 10k of weight

TB plus me and a full tank of gas and gear inside=6000k roughly
Boat=5500 dry with 35 gallons left and a 1500lbs trailer
So I had 12-13k lbs rig that a woman expected me to stop instantly for her...

Any ways you get the idea if she had pulled out because she deliberately rolled the stop, I would have a steel bumper being installed next week.
