How did you get them to come out like that in daylight? I can only get cool shots like that at night...

Looks great Mario! The saturation is high, but works well for the area. The second shot, is it possible to bring up some of the orange? I think it'd pop really well against the green if you can get it to pop out.

Also, a nice thing about the 30 second exposure is that it practically gets rid of people.

The filter is aftermarket... screws on to the lens itself. So long as you get one that fits your lens, sure.

Love the first one. That could potentially win some sort of contest if submitted.

Those photos are really nice Gordin! I love the sharpness and contrast, and I bet you love the low f/1.8 in low light!

Here are a couple of my pictures from when I was hiking around a local state park of ours.

I was digging through photos this morning trying to get myself motivated again to start shooting. Figured I'd share a couple and see how they sit with the community :lurk:

Dang, you guys are good. I had forgotten about this thread. I went through a few months where I was so busy moving that I didn't have a chance to read all of the threads on ORTB, and missed this one entirely.

Mario, I love the 4th one, looking up the ladder. Neat perspective.

Wallace, great color and clarity to those images. I've been having issues with my star shots and having too high of an ISO lately, and my images are all coming out fairly grainy.

Tyler, I really like that first one. Really unique abstract. Inverse color?
The second one needs more empty space. Too much flower, too little bug. I might try re-cropping in a bit more, putting the bug on a 3rd, or crop out (if you can) and get more green.

Here's a couple recent ones of mine, mind you, these are straight from the camera, with no post processing:

#3 is awesome.

How'd you get the long exposure at watkin's glen? ND filter? How many stops?

Yes James, ND filter. I don't recall what it was set to, its an adjustable ND filter, from ND2 to ND400.

Thanks JorDanee... my wife has many more posted in her Blog... http://thisthatandhappiness.com/ireland-part-1/ and http://thisthatandhappiness.com/ireland-part-2-of-2/

I'm with Chris. I have a Canon PowerShot SX50 HS, it has a sensor and processor that compares to some of their entry level EOS cameras and a great zoom. I'm no where near as talented as most of you. My camera stays on auto or sports mode all the time. I don't now anything about exposures and filters but believe me a lot of pictures on this thread have been saved for future use as wall papers and backgrounds haha

I'd have to argue against that. I know a number of photographers, and they're always saying they just take a million shots and spend time finding the best moments. Sure, some are setup and planned, others are luck of the draw because you took 1000 shots of the same thing.
