Mario - those are fine. She may have to work a bit on making the vehicle images into filled ones instead of line art. Advantage is that way she can offer each vehicle in YOUR color, since the stitch pattern doesn't contain color information. It's all in what thread you load in the needles.

Steph - what make and model did you inherit, and did you also (very important) get the software with it? Mrs. Roadie works at a store with all that stuff (sewingmachinesplus.com). If only you were closer she also teaches lessons. If you don't want to keep the machine and learn it she can also help you get the best price for it, I think they're in the used machine business as well. Depends on the model.

I can make them solid, perhaps reverse the colors so that the negative space is black and the lines are white?

We can do that. If she has time, I'll get her to do the Roadiemobile this weekend and try a test run on flat fabric.

It's a Viking Husqvarna 1100. It was my Grandmother's, she passed in 92' & my Aunt kept it & gave it to me this year. It doesn't do all that fancysmansy stuff like a TB..haha! But it did come with different plates & such to change hems or whatever. I have used it for a few easy mend jobs. I just haven't had time to sit down and learn it all yet. The sewing center my grandma originally bought it at is still in business here locally.

Nah, she worked on a collection of Christmas stockings she's selling soon at a local craft fair. Sigh..... I'll lean on her as much as I dare.

DCM's machine can do the same stuff, but the learning curve for computerized embroidery is very, very steep, and works best with a local hands-on mentor.

She's put in a couple of evenings work on the vehicle part, the logo being the easy part. It's looking very good, although the conversion (image to stitch patterning) needs fine tweaking almost everywhere. For a 3"x4" vehicle image, she said the stitch count that will end up being in the file sent to the sewing machine will be about 10K stitches. eek!

I agree with Mr. Downing. Logo on front would look best. hats should be pretty awesome. I didn't seeing anything on it, but are we talking about flex-fit style ball caps?? Also, can we ad in a user name on the side, or above the truck on the back maybe? Just to customize them a little. I'll try to get in touch with my buddy back in WA that had a connection on flex fit ball caps in whatever color for like $9 each or something, IIRC.

I'm planning to put an order in on the store soon. Maybe tonight. Hoodie time in New England, and I can never have enough hoodies!! Wifey even wants one! lol!

How about we put the truck outline to the right or left of the resize hole? Maybe on the center of the side of the cap?

And screennames? Icky... seems tacky to me. But Bill and his wife have the final call on that stuff. All depends on how much they want to charge, and how much setup time it will take.

As long as the caps have no stiffness, I'm good with whatever. Maybe it's just me, but I hate a ball cap that stands up. Limp cap for me please!
