See... thats another thing I dont see a point in. Those who don't know what the site is will only really need to see the site's URL... adding a "region" disclaimer is a moot point if you've got license plates on your vehicle. But to each his own...

Why? Did I miss something?

In my opinion, I don't really think the "chapter" idea would be the greatest because the amount of people on this forum isn't as great as that on the OS. That's the only reason it kinda works over there, and if anybody read the thread where they were getting rid of a few because they didn't meet the "chapter meet" requirements, it kind of caused a stir. I'd like to think that this forum as a whole is pretty tight knit as a whole and wouldn't want to see the BS that goes on over there to come here. Besides, I can only think of one way to do it. Split it up into four sections; East Coast, Midwest, Rocky Mountain, and the West Coast. There are enough people in three of these regions, but I'm pretty sure there is only one active member in the Rocky Mountain area :finger: .

I think as an organizational standpoint it would be a decent idea, at least.

Purely as an organizational standpoint and for ease of trip planning is our region profile info and trip subsections going to be implemented. There aren't going to be official chapters, though if local members wish to plan their own groups and events, we certainly welcome and encourage that. The points about regulated chapters are all good, and we have decided not to implement them at this time.

The testing of the waters is over, and we will announce the changes as soon as they get implemented. Thanks!

What's that little "location" thingy below my username? Does it not let other members know where I am?

If you do regions, I'm going to get really bored talking to myself in my region. Not that I post a great deal anyways, just saying. :finger:

(work for paving, concrete company and do testing on products they make in quarries and also do concrete testing as well)

Just sayin'.. Hahaha, dreaming to live out there.

Colorado is supposed to be looking at building a few Gas fired power plants, I'm sure they'll need some cement work done on them. There's your in, just have to find one of the contractors looking for help...

Well there is talk about this not happening like a lot might want it to. I was thinking of at least having a search function for towns that you live in. or close to to try and find people that are close to you to wheel.

Rather than having area chapters, maybe there needs to be regional forums set up that folks can post their trail rides in more specific. Then if someone is interested in whats going on in that region they can go to that forum or Sub forum and see what's going on in that area.

Otherwise though, I do not really see any reason to set up chapters with the number of folks that are here now. Unless someone can explain a bennefit of having them.

It's not like we're large enough that you can't take a look at each post right now anyways, unlike the OS where most of the time it's too slow and too much of a chore just getting through the new posts and offroad section, let alone going through each individual forum itself.
