Now what kind of articles do we want on here??

Technical kind of stuff I.E. wheel bearings, lifts, axle swaps etc or what would be trivial things to the most of us like CAI installs, HID etc etc?

Not really interested in CAI installs or HID installs. Plus, they both come with instructions. However, if you want to do a detailed writeup, I'd certainly publish it.

Suspension and driveline components are core competencies for us since we beat them up pretty hard.

Ok I gotcha I wasn't saying I was going to do a write up on those EXACTLY I was just wanting to know what kind of direction do you want the site to go with in regards to write ups.

And have to swap them on the trails quite often (or be PREPARED to do that) so an awareness of how to do it with tools at hand is useful. How many of us are carrying the tools to swap out a front spring on the trail, or just change it at the strut level?

With a side of snarkiness towards noobs who can't be bothered to READ the articles and come up to speed on their own without excessive hand-holding. :slap:

Great article!

I suggest removing the part about the spare tire assembly, though... Doesn't fit into the article...

As I started the project, I also wanted to find out why I was having problems lowering my spare tire (like that is a new problem with the TrailVoy family…) and discovered that the cable was sticking out of the winch. I removed the entire assembly for repairs outside the vehicle. Other threads document this problem well, but if I can repair my own winch, i’ll document and post that as well.

On to the repair:

Here is the location of the spare tire winch tool for lowering the tire. Use a flashlight to find the square peg deep in the hole — and the jack handle fits over the square peg to lower the spare tire winch.

Articles look good. Now, to build on the database.

You might check here for some ideas:

http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/

Not all that is there will pertain to us, but some of the concepts will, i.e., tire reviews, fabrication tools, specialty drivetrain parts, especially high angle CV axles, etc.

For instance, we all know the issues we're having with decent aftermarket wheels. The centers on other wheels can be replaced and custom drilled to fit our axle pattern. Or, we might be able to find parts from othe vehicles that will replace our bolt patterns with more common Chevy offerings that make bolt-on wheels a reality. Here is an article that speaks to the issue of new centers in beadlock wheels:

The rims come custom re-centred at your choice of backspacing (up to a max of about 4.75") and any bolt pattern you desire.

Or these bullet-proof diff covers:

And, here is an article that might be of interest as we progress further into off-road capability:

Thanks for the feedback. That's sorta the goal... to amass as much technical information and DIY articles we can.

I do like the review section idea, but that's also what the forum is all about.

If you have any interest in the inner-workings of the trailblazer design, or need to overhaul a transmission, these are the documents you need.

Or need to sabotage one, these are the documents you need. :coffee2:
This is an aggressive post. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate a post of this quality and depth.

New suspension lift install article compliments of BDS.

It's essentially a copy of their installation instructions for their lift, but it's a nice resource to have hosted here on ORTB.

Working on integrating the articles a little more.

Check out the troubleshooting section to see the latest. I think it helps bring the articles to the people that may need them... Tell me if you like it or not.
