Kitchen setup

Discussion on how to enjoy the outdoors.

I'm just curious what everyone uses for cooking. I'm stuck deciding which route I want to go. I'm not sure if I want to go with a 2 burner table top stove with say normal sized pots and pans, or go the compact route with a hiking style mini burner and small stackable hiking pots and pans. I don't plan on packing up the cooking gear to go hiking so all cooking will be done out of vehicle but at the same time I don't want it taking up too much cargo area. Just looking to see what everyone else uses.

Thanks again all!

I go camping/backpacking style with a small fuel canister stove and stackable pots, but also usually bring along gear to make cooking over a campfire possible.

We tend to sleep in the back of the trailblazer (put the seats down and it makes a decent bed area), so our cargo (tons of tools, gear, clothing, etc.) needs to fit in the front seat area at night. This may sound like a hassle, but we're fast at it now and know where everything goes.

I carry both. I have a 2 burner stove with 2 pots and 2 pans that fit inside each other. But I also keep a mini burner in my bug out bag.
Depends on how you plan on eating. I've done trips where all I eat is the freeze dried Mountain House meals (which are delicious), so on those trips, I only need to boil some water. But if you plan on making eggs, bacon, stirfry, etc, then yea, you'll be glad you brought the big stuff.

Cool cool, Thanks guys!

I may have landed some camping gear from the uncle.

Also DirtyBacon do you think the Mountain House meals are worth it? I heard they are good but is it $5-$7 a meal good. I like the idea and convenience and also less chance of broken eggs everywhere and things going bad but I having a hard time with how much they are.
