Can't see it being any worse than a roof top tent

I like the size of it, but if I can find that much flat ground I can pitch an actual tent. 42lbs isn't bad, anything under 50 is light :finger:

I'm in Michigan, its pretty flat...
I sleep in the TB anyway, back seats fold flat. Would just be nice to have for normal camping with the family, dont need it at the hunting properties since its just me in the truck

Looks pretty nifty, I'd be pretty concerned the attachment to the vehicle would let in bugs and rain though. That's not too say that I could think of a better way to do it.

That's why I'm debating it, will probably attend a couple camping shows to see one in person and how well they fit before I ever buy one

Pretty interesting indeed.

I'm wondering how it would work on one of our lifted rigs however. I really would compare this to getting an awning, so price is about close to the same. This wouldn't be bad either if you needed additional shelter to cook and stuff while staying dry and out of the rain without having to cook on the back of the truck with the tailgate up.

I think I've seen some guys on expo that seem to really like that thing, especially the desert guys. Seems like it'd be easy to put some poles on the feet to make a large open canopy out of it.

I'd need to be camping for months on end to set that beast up.

At that point it's not camping. It's your zombie invasion resistance HQ.

Highly impractical, for that application, IMHO. Mobility is key, and it would take too long to strike camp. I guess it would also depend on the location of said base camp. I still feel mobility would be one of your greatest assets, in that situation.

Living in a high altitude mountains or large desert area would be your best bet for zombie survival far away from population centers with difficult to navigate terran.

We have one of those doomsday freaks around here, built his giant house in dense wooded area hard to reach from all sides except the front. In front he built 2 ponds that wrap around the side a little only way to his front door is driveway between ponds, has a mount on upper deck for his .50 cal., I wouldn't want to try charging through that bottleneck.

Trees provide nice cammo for a breach team. But I guess we can assume this guy has motion sensors or fences hidden in the woods behind and beside the house.

I'm surprised you haven't seen lawsuits from kids wandering around in the woods and getting injured in booby traps
