Prescott NF Implements Stage I Fire Restriction

Discussion on how to enjoy the outdoors.

Figured I'd post this in case any member is planning to travel through PNF lands / staying in PNF lands anytime before August or September. Depending on how the weather is, these restrictions will very likely extend to nearby forests (Coconino, Kaibab) as well as Yavapai County. So keep this in mind if Northern AZ is part of your travel plans.

Campfire and smoking restrictions will go into effect on the Prescott National Forest Wednesday, May 22, at 8:00 a.m. Forest managers have determined that key trigger points have been reached to warrant taking these restrictive actions. These include rapid drying of live and dead forest vegetation, escalating fire weather conditions and increased forest visitor use.
“In anticipation of increased visitation, we want to remind visitors that we all have a role to play in preventing human-caused fires”, said Deputy Fire Staff Officer Jeff Andrews. “We work closely with local agencies to coordinate fire restrictions and fire bans; and these restrictions will help to reduce the risk of a wildfire and protect our communities”.

This is an aggressive post. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate a post of this quality and depth.
