I agree ^^^ typically if you have equal or more engagement of threads than the stud diameter it should be fine. Torque them and go.

Kind of hard to tell from the pics... but the lugs being 1" deep, that's a lot of thread.

You might ask Mark where he gets the lognuts for his wheel spacers. They have a threaded area that extends deeper into the hole.

Tuner lug nuts. Get them at any auto parts store in the cheesy section.

I've always read 1.5 times the bolt diameter for thread engagement. But despite that being the accepted layman standard there is an actual equation. I've always just stuck with the 1.5 rule. Here are a few links to verify...

Decided I'm going to use these hubs and studs as spares. I got some temporary tires mounted on the H3 wheels today. They are mounted to the hubs right now so that I can roll the trailer around while working on it. I'm eventually going to take the hubs off, bring them to my local trailer shop, and have them get me 2 new hubs with longer studs. Decided to take some pics of the progress... also decided to incorporate the newly acquired VW into things... Look how tiny it is!!!













I most definitely need to take at least 2 leafs off... maybe even 3!

12' long piece of 2.5" tube tacked in place. I ran out of wire... so I couldn't do any more welding today.







Tube extends 6" behind rear frame to use as a rear receiver. I will be using the trailer's stock A from bars to reinforce the tongue.

Tongue wait is a little low right now, but lots of material is still missing.

A-frame welded on, welded corner uprights onto frame, and welded center brace. If you look on the rear uprights, you'll see a piece of thinner wall angle, this is going to be the top of the frame.

I've not decided yet what to make the walls out of, thinking some 1x6 or so pressure treated boards. I think maybe lining the metal with the same material that I used on the bumpers, in black, and a grey version on the boards. Thoughts?

Great progress Mario. Have you got a plan for cargo access doors? Anything that might fold out over a wheel for use as tables or kitchen work areas?

My buddy is giving me a pickup bed side box... not sure what it looks like yet... or if it will even work. But that is an option for at least one side. The rear of the trailer is probably going to be a swing out door. Depends on whether or not I can come up with a something that will work with an opening top.

Picked up the bed side box... it is going to take a little bit of work to get it to act as a the side camp kitchen, but it should work nicely.





My biggest thing with the box is the step. I wish it were a an actual rectangle. The price was right for this, though, so I may have to make it work... $0

I also picked up that coleman stove... $10. Does anyone know if they make an adapter hose to use the larger propane tanks on these stoves?

They sell the adapter in the camping section at Wal-Mart.

Starting to plan the fenders out. I think I might bring the top line down a bit. As taped, the clearance from top of tire to the fender line is 8", fender line to to fender line is 38".

I might make the opening 40" and bring the top line down 1-2".

You could copy the fender opening of the trailblazer to kinda tie everything together.

I'm working with a sheet of diamond plate 42"x63". I already have to cut it down into (2) 16"x63" pieces, notch out lines where the bends will be, bend the angles into place, weld the bends, and then weld angle iron on the edge to make lips (also requiring notching and bending)... following the TB's lines on top of that is going to be a little much.

I'm tying the trailer into the TB with the wheels and the paint colors, (black metal frame and grey panels).
