CB or walkie, one or both?

So I've searched threads to see what people are using and it's pretty much an infinite amount of options...anyone have a good place or book for learning this stuff? Needing to purchase my first and trying to do the research and buy the best for me...

I ended up buying one of the models several of the other guys recommended. I got the suggestion here then read a bit more on the web.
