Alone in the Wilderness

Discussion on how to enjoy the outdoors.

by Chutes » Wed Oct 26, 2011 10:51 pm

Has anyone ever heard of the documentary Alone in the Wilderness by Dick Proenneke?

He went and lived by himself in Alaska from age 51 until age 82.

This video is a very short sample of the full video. I once saw the whole thing on PBS, but its $20 to buy it.

He really knew how to get things done and was quite resourceful.

Nice find.

I haven't seen that before, but I did see "Into the wild". Much different outcome... success vs. failure.

Some people just have that in them. I love that stuff but it would definitely get lonely .
