This one was the first trip for my TB, and it was almost a year ago (Wednesday of Thanksgiving break).

I wanted to go to Cordes to see what remains of it, and since I was stuck here for the break together with two of my roommates, I decided that it was the right time to go, I ended up inviting them (and that was the reason why we left with over an hour of delay). The weather wasn't as nice because it had been raining for the entire night and it kept on raining pretty much the entire day.

While the plan was to go to Cordes, then Cleator and back, as we got to Cleator we saw a sign that said halfway to Crown King, so I decided to continue all the way there.

From Prescott to Mayer it's paved, AZ SR-69 (or, the alternative is SR-89A -> Fain Rd -> SR-69, which is my preferred route). Then Main St (I believe) in Mayer becomes Antelope Creek Rd and right before Cordes it ends at Crown King Rd (Crown King Rd starts off I-17, goes thru Bumble Bee, Cordes, Cleator and ends at Crown King).

I want to go back, possibly next week during the break to see everything again and take better pics (weather permitting).

Right where the gravel road begins. And a warning

In Cordes. The old store still operates on weekends and is still owned by the Cordes family. The fuel pump is now inoperative but makes for some cool pictures.

In Cleator. More buildings remain there, aswell as the general store and saloon, lots of old cars rusting away

On our way to Crown King, we were above the clouds

This is an aggressive post. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate a post of this quality and depth.
