I'm in unless shit turns seriously sideways between now and then.

I'll be polluting your GMT360ness with a Tacoma.

I know Randy seemed seriously interested early on.

You can't wait for something great to happen, you got to make it happen, coming on this trip would be great. Make it happen, inspirational enough....

I won't have enough vacation to make it at this point... Beginning of July we are suppose to be up in the NW for my in-laws 50th anniversary. But if I can make a long weekend out of it I am hoping that will work out since it is about 7 hours or so from my place.

Maybe my maths are wrong, me a high skool drop out. But isn't September a whole month after July? Come for the weekend at least, no vacation needed. Unless you work weekends.

We believe in you Larry.

We have been in a few weekends due to some major projects that we have been working. I am going to see how things pan out to make it there for the weekend.

I have to downgrade myself to the "maybe" category. I just had some deals on wheeler stuff fall into my lap, and so I'm making deals on parts and essentially building a new rig. I'm hoping I can come out about even once I'm done selling what I have, but if I get too far into this my budget for travel will get eaten.

I should have a much better idea on my status in a month or so.

Are we good with the days posted? I have to put in my bids for vacation this week.

What else are we trying to do in this thread before we post it publicly?

Start on the 20th end on the 24th, if this is good then all we need is to have the first day planned and we can take this to the forum. We need to get it out there asap so everyone has time to plan, 7 months left as we talk now.

yeah, I'm thinking that we want to announce it with at the absolute minimum of 6 months for guys to save up and plan, the sooner the better.

Does anyone see any problem with the hotel I suggested as the meetup point?

Mike, Bill, have you fellas hashed out a first day wheeling plan? I think we were predominately looking for the guys that have been there for this, but I can sit down and do some reading in a couple days and maybe come up with suggestions if you guys are drawing blanks.

I made a suggestion but haven't gotten any real replies yet or counter suggestions.

I don't have a problem with the hotel, that's the same one we spent the night at when we came out of Canyonlands because of the storm.

I'm a little surprised at the lack of input to be honest.

We should probably just meet up at the hotel and then do canyonlands as the first day since it seems relatively mild.

We can discus the other day trips, aggressive and mild, with meet ups between the two groups (mild and aggressive) in the SME forum before we submit the additional itinerary. That way it looks well planned. lol

If past experience tells me anything its that everyone will be willing to suggest an activity and demand we do more activities, but no one wants to plan said activities.

Sorry, been wicked busy. I'm a huge fan of a day at the BLM Sand Flats Recreation Area, on Fins'n'Things and other trails. Camping also available, first come first serve, 120 sites. You drive right past the (closed) Lion's Back to get there. And there is an open "test" fin called Baby Lion's Back that you can attempt to see if you are built enough to do Fins'n'Things. I've posted pics.

You can also spend a whole day in Arches NP. SCENIC! And mostly accessible to Civics, but I found some challenging stuff between well-graded gravel sections.

White Rim is another (long) day.

I'll do some research and suggest some courses if you guys want, I ain't shy of reading and putting it into action. But if the experienced guys have a plan I don't see the point in offering 2nd hand opinions.

Challenging is great but I would love to get the best views. We have plenty of time to try difficult stuff if we like, I wouldn't want to miss out on the beauty of the area just to only hit the tough spots, also not saying we wouldn't see just as much cool shit in the challenging trails too, I've never been so I don't know.
