I mentioned some time ago that I had let Mrs. Moto pick the trail, and she sent us on an adventure down Box Canyon Trail... and that I had forgotten my camera, and that she said she'd NEVER go back there.

She got over it. 8^)

Prior to doing this trail this time, I researched it on Google earth and printed a number of maps, got Lat/Lon co-ords, etc. Better prepared makes for a better trail ride. I also remembered my camera, for once. 8^/

In the canyon, it gets a little claustrophobic...

Very scenic... while allowing very few options.

Ok, lets get the spotter out there!

Is it bad if you hear a ton of scraping noises and the truck stops?

Image

After a little digging and road-building: That was easy! 8^)

I'm getting logged out every couple of minutes. It's making me crazy, and it's not making this post any easier to put together. Anybody know what's going on???

Walking a section. We came upon a Tarantula (who bolted) and you can see in the forground that if you just dig a little with the toe of your boot you get water.

Having agreed upon a path, I'm headed back to the TB to bring it up.

After agreeing on a pathway, I bring the TB up under the watchful eye of Mrs. Moto. As was stated in another thread, it LOOKS so EASY in the pictures! It ain't. At least not in my poof-mobile, it ain't! LOL

Maps notwithstanding, this is a long ride from my house. We're climbing out of the canyon and you can see how late it's getting... long shadows, evening approaches!Image

Finally on top, you can see the city in the far distance.

5 miles to the highway, all graded gravel road! In the nick of time!! LOL

Jeesh!!! I got logged off roughly 30 times; often I'd log in, then it would punt me right back to the log in screen without even getting to the forum! This is a somewhat abbreviated version of our trail ride: it's all I can stand at this point.

Sorry about the logouts. First time I remember it being reported. Perhaps the site was in the middle of doing backups? JD - anything in the logs?

Here's the line you could have taken with rock sliders.

Looks like a pretty canyon Harry, nice pics. Don't know about the roadies line, but sliders could be in your future. Thanks for posting the trip.

First I need to install the air compressor/rear air suspension. That alone would have gotten me over this little step. Next would be a locker in the back, you really have to be careful with a 2 wheel drive! (one front, one rear)

Sliders, I don't know about that. This is pretty much over the top 4-wheeling for me anymore. My priority is the poofy ride comfortmobile to haul my elderly candy a$$ around. Hyar!

Getting logged off: I was at work, we were basically pulling fire watch on a virtually empty factory. In house security is pretty tight, and extremely poorly run, I suspect that was the problem. Hopefully I'll add a little bit to the original post from home and see how it goes. If I don't get bumped from here, it's all the workplace thing.

ADDED> Ok, I just added 4 pix to the "how far do your tires stick out" thread. Used the same procedures I was using last night, and I never got logged out once. Y'alls site is working fine, sorry for any confusion.
