Here is a trail report from Mount Baldy near Colorado Springs. The trail is a fairly easy one(2 off the rating system) but very scenic and also a very short drive from the springs.

Very nice trip, I've done it a few times, one suggestion I have is, in the big open area the trail splits, don't go left, made that mistake which lead to teetering on 2 wheels, but came out to a 2 lm highway in-between Victor and the springs.
