Went to 5 mile and 10 mile canyons. It is a place within 30 miles of my house. We took the kids and invited my in-laws and made a day of it. We had to stick to the easier stuff, slightly more than a graded trail but nothing really serious. The mud there is strange. it is about 5-10" deep in spots and sticks to itself. So it is just slippery and it is hard to get out of the tread to clean the tires off. His truck is a stock 1500 Silverado Z71 and he doesn't do anything serious in this truck so we stayed on the easier roads. He has an 89 Silverado Stepside that is set up for this, but we are in the middle of a 383 swap on it so it is down for a while.

Just off the pavement deciding which road to take first.

Where we turned around in 10 mile canyon. The mud was too slick for his street tires. I barely made it with mud tires.

This is what I mean about sticking to the tires. It is odd mud for this place. Hard to drive in.

Some pics of my crew. :thumright: We stopped near the locked gate at the top half of 5 mile canyon and let the kids run around and stretched our legs.

Very nice! Looks like a good trip. Maybe we should move this into the trip section... I assume this is in Utah?
