PLANNING: SILVER LAKE SAND DUNES. AUG29/30 2015

I'm putting together another trip to the Silver Lake Sand Dunes. I'm meeting at my dad's late Friday night. Sat morning we will pack up and head the last hour up to Silver Lake. We will be staying at the Jellystone Campground. The only GMT guys going so far are Wishbone and myself. The non GMT guys going are: My brother (Polaris quad and F250) My dad (Playtoy) and my best friend in his freshly acquired Grand Cherokee. So, 5 trucks to start is a pretty solid start! Anyone else want to see the view from the top of Test Hill?

Soumds like a good time, i am headed there this weekend for a family camping outing. I dont think I'm going to get on the dunes though. I have been researching requirements and I am not ready. far as I can tell a flag is needed and all the fees, but i dont quite get the voucher deal? They limit your time on the dunes and first come first serve? What happens if you can't get a voucher? screwed?

The voucher limits the time of day your allowed to enter the dunes. But they do not require you to leave at a specific time. They have a seperate location for getting vouchers. Its a small hassle but honestly no worse than the long lines they used to have. My stickers were in the $60 area. Typically, they only run low on vouchers on holiday weekends. Yes, the flag is the only other requirement.

Thanks. Im sure we will. Mom says Ive enjoyed the sand dunes since before I was born.

Looks like we will have a mixed bag of people in the group. Mine, my dad's FJ40, my brothers F250, a Wrangler, and a Grand Cherokee. Sure would be nice to get another TB out there!!! Wishbone will be there, but he is worried about his transmission. He's not going to wheel it.

Just bumping the thread. I'm loaded up with a Qaud and my TB on a trailer... Headed to my parents an hour south of the dunes here in an hour or so!
