:Iagree:

But if its the rain and storms that are supposed to be here right now, you are golden. There has been 3 minutes of sprinkling today and 60 sunny and beautiful right now. But they had us at 70% and hail and thunderstorms on the weather channel and local channels. I think the front has died.

I guess you have to have been in the forest to understand the dynamics of the 'pine Barrens'. Most of it is relatively flat and sand covered. The nice thing about the rain there is the sand packs and is easier to navigate as opposed to mud which spreads/grooves and becomes slick when ran through. The down side is that all the water holes/ponds have a tendency to become small lakes that can be deceptively deep. Even the go-arounds become small ponds. Sometimes have to get out and depth check with a pole or stick.

On a side note, the weather forcast at the moment is calling for 1 to 2 inches of rain fri night and potential flooding on sat. Everyone have their snorkels installed and waders ready to go ?!?!?!?

I want to get out there and wheel, but I like to be able to get out of the truck every now and then, especially if a photo-op presents itself.

Last time I was in Wharton, it was perfect. Rained all the way down, once we all met up at the entrance, it stopped. Was dry and sunny all day while we wheeled. Rain picked up again right after we left. Washed off all the mud.

That was an awesome day. The offroad godz were smiling upon us

Just copied this from the national weather service . . .

* FROM 7 PM EST THIS EVENING THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING * PERIODS OF RAIN WILL OCCUR ACROSS THE AREA INTO SUNDAY MORNING. THE HEAVIEST RAIN IS ANTICIPATED TO OCCUR STARTING LATE TONIGHT AND ESPECIALLY DURING SATURDAY.

* WIDESPREAD TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES ARE ANTICIPATED WITH THIS STORM, WITH LOCALLY UP TO 5 INCHES POSSIBLE.

:hissyfit:

GIVEN THIS AMOUNT OF RAIN, THE POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR AREAS OF DANGEROUS FLOODING TO DEVELOP OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. SMALL STREAMS AND POSSIBLY MAIN STEM RIVERS WILL REACH FLOOD STAGE.

SMALLER STREAMS WILL RESPOND FIRST TO THE RAINFALL FOLLOWED BY THE LARGER RIVERS. FLOODING COULD BEGIN TOWARD DAYBREAK SATURDAY ALONG FAST RESPONDING CREEKS, WHILE THE LARGER, SLOWER RESPONDING RIVERS COULD SEE FLOODING PERSIST INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK. IN ADDITION, THESE RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL CAUSE AREAS OF FLOODING ON ROADWAYS AND POOR DRAINAGE

Glad we canned that trip. That would have been ugly. Everything is flooded around here.

Hey now, I made it out to wharton this past sunday. You guys were missed every time I had to get out to depth check the small lakes. Here's a short vid I put together of My jemima hill climb. I spliced my Go-Pro cam and a vid cam at the top. Both my diffs are open.

There was an enduro race going on in the forest sun so for the first 8 miles or so, we kept having to pull over to let bikes go by. PITA. The other truck I was rolling with got stuck so I got to do an easy extraction. Also one of my rear ABS lines got torn out by running over a large branch. Aparently ran it over the wrong way. It went up between my wheel and spring pack and severed the wire. Time to solder in a patch section :mechanic: Image.
Image 3" SL. Sliders next.

I'm pretty sure we could do it no problem only question is if we'll bottom out, but the whole thing looks less rutted then when we were there, i mean even the tame part all the way to the left had some deep ruts.

Keep in mind, My truck has a little more ground clearance stock -VS- the TB andnow I have 3" SL. Here's a pic I took the night I traded it. TB and Fronty side by side both stock height. The difference looks riduculous now when I park next to a stock TB or Voy.

Truck is 4093 curb weight. What does the TB/Voy weigh ? The hill is really bouncy going up and fun as all get-up. I was spinning my wheels with my open diffs. I would have tried it in 2wd if I had G-80 technology. I wanna' mount a back-up camera and do it in reverse now. That would be cool. The flight pattern is on hold for the vid. All apologies. They aren't impressive at all. No one got in front of me to be in the mobile vid.

If anyone bottoms out, we will pull you out. The hill is just about the same as the last time we were there. The one all the way to the left has one really deep rut i'm sure I would scrape my frame on. I wanna' get back and search for more cool stuff in there.

What size tires do you have? The biggest limit for the TB is really the rear pumpkin. With my 32"ers I have ~9" clearance under the diff.
