maybe because you put yourself on the list 43 lines below the last guy and Dave didn't see you. Or maybe he secretly doesn't want you going.

You'll probably be fine withough armor... you can take the pass line around the only real difficult thing. Or someone can spot you if you get real nervous. And the cb is only a benefit if you want to talk to anyone. You don't have to have it. You'll just be in the dark a bit.

How easy would it be to join the group if I wasn't able to arrive until LATE friday night? I have class/work that will hold me back till 5PM in Dayton, meaning I would get to Walmart at roughly 11 or 12, not even mentioning the trail.

I would really like to make this one seeing I installed a CB, swapped the rear end, and invested in recovery gear for the last TECORE that I missed due to my sisters graduation. It would be great to put some names to faces and to change the scenery from the Farm to rocks.

Don't get me wrong, if it would be unwise to head up the trail that late at night then I would sit it out till morning, but if it just a matter of finding my way then give me a map.

Night ride, I'd be up for that. Make more sense to meet you west somewhere and wiser to travel the trail with someone just in case. Normally we stay one of two places flag pole knob 38.50985°N 79.18420°W or Meadow Knob 38.50679°N 79.15504°W the first night depend on which spot is free. Assuming that's where we're going the first night.

I'll see what I can do about getting my suspension ready for the trip, if I get the basics covered like tie rods and shit I'll make an attempt to go

Wahugg where are you coming from? Small chance I would have to come Friday night but it's a very small chance

I've driven up the trail myself at night, real late, but I also know it well. Cell service is patchy but fairly reliable on top of the mountain. On the trail from the north, it's nonexistant. That's the easier trail I think. You can also come in from the south, which is pretty easy, more pavement and likely better cell service. From the east is a bit more challenging.

Ultimately your call. If you get hung up, we'll come find you in the morning. Worst case you have to sit out a night. We have been met at the site late by some guys before, so it wouldn't be a first. How much of an adventure are you up for?

Keep in mind this is hunting season, so we'll probably see a bit more human activity than normal too.

Second night we are pushing into German river territory and seeing what there is to see there and will try to locate a new campsite for the group. Although we can always fall back on vepco.

Hey guys! Looks like I will be able to go this year(as long as you don't mind me bringing my truck). I had to work this weekend instead of going to the Appalachian Rendezvouses in URE. So Ive got sick days I can use for the trip.

Wallace, if you put those coordinates Robert gave you into your common GPS, you'll be in good shape. My Garmin knows all the trails exist and will take you right there. OR someone could meet you at the end of Flagpole in West Virgina. Robert should have that on his map.

Dan (02_Chevy) You'll want a good tent/tarp. Good sleeping bag. Warm clothes. Food water. You can bum a stove off us if you dont have one. Bring your tools and recovery gear that you have, firearm if you wish (camping in bear country and such) . No need for extra fuel, we've never came close to needing it. Mid-day saturday there is a chance to fuel up. A camp chair, tire pressure gauge, drinks and cigars, a good attitude and a desire for adventure.

Consider this a test in your self reliance. Think of this as backpacking with your truck. Bring what you think you'll need. If you get out there and need something, and don't have it. We wont leave you hanging.

hope you can make it.
