Yep. I would not go smaller.

Nothing you didn't see in Kyles pictures. Just some cell phone parking lot shots. But what you did miss was all the TBSS hate in the comments, lol.

You guys need to run less tire pressure... Like single digits in the snow.

Define NEED. I think mud trees and rocks caused all of the being stuck. And my shifter cause my only need to be pulled with all terrain tires. I would still have come down further if the Parks compressor was working.
It was a great time!

FYI--the parks compressor was working when I left. I did have a couple compressors with me if someone needed one.

I did not deflate at all, but that was pure laziness or self preservation. I woulda run 10 if I did air down, but when I went out to do it and my nuts froze to my leg...I figured trying full psi was an ok thing.

Erik. Did you get that bead cleaned out or did it leak out on way home?

I had a compressor and used it. The bead still has some grass in it. Its still up 48 hrs later though! Next chance I get I will pull it off and clean the bead. Its hardly leaking now that its up to pressure.

Good. Most of the crap came out when I was messing it.

Need as in I didn't see any sidewall flex on the hill climb in that video. Lots of full size spares in your group so no biggie if someone peels a bead. Mud, trees and rocks are what most people wheel on. The snow/wet just makes it so you want even more contact patch.

Bring a portable compressor if you're worried.

4 trucks went up. 1 truck struggled. I took a BAD bounce at the top cause I had too much speed. My honest opinion based on that climb and a few others would relate to the tires themselves. He's running Kyle's old treadwrights. I no longer want a set.
For the record I have aired down as low as 4psi. Truck weight, sidewall of the tire, conditions to drive in and how sharp you may need to turn all play factors. We could have aired down further... but I don't feel we needed to.

That climb....Regulator was having reduced power from a misfire according to our conversation on the way home. I am not sure it was tires as he just seemed to run out of go.

You had two guys with failures likely linked to wheelspin or bouncing.

So airing down can prevent a bent TRE? That's a new one for me.

Yes it could. Hit a solid full tire on a rock n full force transfers to tie rod. Hit a soft aired down tire n part of the energy is absorbed in the tire.
