A buddy with a lifted Cherokee and I went down to Adams to try our hand on the sloppy, flooded access roads earlier today. The trail is typically manageable, but

with all the rain we've been getting here in the North Country recently, it was nasty. We both did well until I ventured into water that was a little too deep. I scouted the water crossing and it appeared crossable, however I didn't anticipate how rutted the bottom was and ended up getting stuck. We used his Jeep to recover the Trailblazer and continued on.

My buddy brought his full tilt camera out, so he was able to snap some "artsy" pictures of the venture.

This trip did serve to drive the next additions/modifications to the trailblazer, however, which will be full skids and a rear diff cover. I could feel the diff bumping into a submerged log while trying to back out of the water hole where I eventually got stuck. It was nerve racking, to say the least.

Looks like fun! :flex dirty:
The problem with the Trailblazer is, people think you know what you're doing.

Thanks, all.

Hayes: just basic mods. Mark MC suspension lift (3 front, 2 rear), bilstein hds up front, BDS in rear, moog springs all around. It rides on 255/75/17 BFG MTs on PROCOMP wheels. I've got a full size spare mounted on my CBI folding tire carrier. I plan to mount some lights on the Westin brush guard in the next week or two, until I decide if and how I'm going to do a bumper. I also keep an assortment of tools and recovery gear in the back, which obviously came in handy today.

OPETH: this was a last minute thing, but you're more than welcome to join next time we head down there. There's a couple good trails around Adams and Barnes Corners, but Jerusalem is definitely the best. We still need to plan some sort of northern NY event, me thinks.

I live right next to this trail. I Take Middle Road Right next to my house to get to this trail. The last time I tried this i made it across the flooded part but once we got past it we relized it just kept getting worse and worse. I had my GoPro going and on the way back I HydroLocked my engine trying to get out of there. Luckily I was crawling an the RPMs were low so I didn't destroy the head. I pulled all the plugs on the trail got the water out and limped her home for an oil change.
