COMPLETED - 2013-01-19 - GWNF Flagpole Run

Many of us in the area had heard that Flagpole Run was one of the better trails in GWNF, so we decided to find out for ourselves. We had a pretty good turn out from Wrangler Forum and we even had a Ford Raptor owner join us!

The days were short, so we were able to get some night driving in. (Mine is the one with the roof lights).

What route did you guys take? Did you come up from 33 or from Union Springs?

For this trip, we came up Union Springs.

Unfortunately, because this was the first time that we had been up there, we missed the turn to head toward Switzer Dam on this trip, so we ended up on SR924 and had to figure out a way back.

It worked out anyway - by the time we would have gotten to the Switzer Dam portion of the trail on the way to 33, it would have been dark and we would not have seen much anyway...
