NOTE: Documentation of a ride prior to joining ORTB...

After getting my lift installed the week of Thanksgiving 2012, I was itching to go for a trail ride. So a buddy of mine planned a trip to GWNF to do Peter's Mill. Definitely an enjoyable first ride!

The stock Jeep Wrangers that were out there with me that day scrapped their gas tank skid plates on this one!

I'm really liking the looks of your truck! Nice trip.

Thanks Brent!

Looks a bit different now with the skids installed and the front bumper cover removed, but like many builds on here - it is a work in progress.

My GPS was acting up for both of the Peter's Mill trips, so I do not have GPS tracks for them. I now have an external antenna for the GPS, so my tracks are much more consistent now.

We followed the directions in this link [1] to get there. These directions take you to a parking lot right across from the trail head. There is another parking lot at the end of the trail, so they are good places to air down/up if you want to. This trail is pretty low key though. Most of it is a trail rating of 1.5 - 2 max. The berm in the pictures above is the only area that a stock vehicle cannot do, but it is off to the side of the trail.

Note that this trail does require a pass. They have 1 day, 3 day, and annual passes. Here is a list of vendors that sell the passes. [2] This page also has GPS coordinates to the trail heads and trail maps showing vehicle use areas.

JD did you ever check this trail out? I was thinking about finally getting on a real trail and making Peters Mill the spot since I'm still on stock size Terra Grapplers. Any interest in a day trip on a Saturday some time soon?

Mike I start a part time job today at the shop that did your lift. Look forward to meeting you one of these days.
