Not if it's raining. If it's raining, we can all cook and sit and bullchit under the canopy, where without it, we end up all separated cooking under our tailgates.

Being that the weather looks pretty good right now for both evenings, I think I'm going to leave it at home.

That's why I think one of the other things I want besides a my strong leaning more and more towards a roof-top tent is the awning.
Once lifted 03 Trailblazer on 35's, gave it up to travel the USA with my family.

when I camp, I usually have a small tarp/rope on hand to throw up a quick one if needed. Not sure if there are enough trees where y'all will be camping but it doesn't take up much space.

I always bring a tarp, but it's not always a perfect system.

Mike, I concur, by the looks of the reports, we shouldn't need it either night.

OK, we won't bring it, then.

BTW, we might be glad I brought my little trimming chainsaw, depending on who bad these storms are that roll through there tonight. Not only good for firewood, but also for clearing trails.

I was thinking about bringing mine, But I'm not for the same reason you are. It is heavy as hell and takes up a lot of room.

I have news paper and a cut up pallet in my truck for fire starting. Because of the rain, I might cut up a second pallet....

I have my ax to split logs again if need be.

I'll still bring my recip as a backup. Its a bit slower, but also less involved.

I wouldn't bother. We don't need no skeenking cardboard!

You should pick up some of these bad boys, if you havent already... I have some for keeping my wood pile nice and orderly. Im kinda OCD like that. They're good for other uses around the yard, as well.

I usually carry "fat lighter" and a little propane torch.
The torch uses the same cylinders as my coleman stove/lantern etc.
I know it is cheating but when it is cold/wet it is nice to have every advantage!

Even with those blades, with a good battery, my 18V sawzall only gets though ~2-3 6" logs on a battery.

I have those blades. Have yet to use them though. I was using an old construction blade before. But with that blade, I could get through more than 3 pieces of wood Mike... that sounds low. Anywho, I was thinking about bringing the 20v lithium and seeing how it does. Or maybe the corded one and pulling off the inverter...?

Chuck Norris's recip doesn't need blades, or batteries... The material gets scared, seeing it coming, and cuts itself.
