I can do the 12th-14th as well but like the last weekend better, whatever suites the group as a whole I'll go with.

I've been thinking about this recently too. Glad you posted it up Rory.

I can prob only do the first weekend in Oct. The last two are 100% out of the question. Sept looks much better for me. Even Nov is nice.

I can do the 2nd weekend in Oct., Sept is a bite busy for me and same as Oct. I'm good with the 2nd and 4th weekends in Nov.

We can move it to Nov if no one has Nov. issues maybe 9th- 11th?

Looking like I've got an anniversary trip the 11th-13th of November.

It's not scheduled yet, though, so I can likely change it. Early ML deer season starts November 3rd in VA, though, so I would say we should stay out of November.

I've got a trip the weekend of the 22nd of September that I'd like to have at least a week off in between it and TECORE.

First or second weekend in October is fine by me...

Early Oct is definitely out for me... Camping trip the first weekend.

And yes, Mike, we're planning on visiting Wilmington, NC first. Will see how we like it there over an extended weekend.

Sounds like there's some minimal consensus around late Sept/early Oct...

Early November is nice up there... Gun hunting doesn't start till Nov 17th. The weekend before would be nice... Nov 9-11?

I will be a ride along with either Hardtrailz or Barton if it works out, but my truck is out. I doubt I will see functional 4x4 for a couple more months.

Blech... that sucks. Perfect weather.

Are there really that many that hunt muzzle? Seems so antiquated.

Modern, inline rifled muzzle-loaders fall into that category, as well. I've done all of my gun hunting with a ML, because it's a .50 bullet, is 1.5" at 100yds accurate (1.5 minute of angle), and has as much energy as a 12ga slug... I know that here, probably 1/2 or 2/3 of the guys who gun hunt also ML hunt.

ETA: and my ML was $150, brand new. CVA Wolf.

I'm not scared of the "orange army" but that does mean that finding a camping spot could be a little more difficult, and a good camping spot in particular.

Nope, them'z my boiz! ML season isn't nearly as bad, but if I had to hunt on public land, I don't know that I would gun-hunt there. I've known several guys who have admitted to emptying a gun at what sounded like a deer walking on the other side of a thicket.
