It was a pleasure meeting you guys... I'm looking forward to wheeling with each of you soon. Sorry for taking up so much time on Saturday with my issue. I know you guys missed out on some trails because of me...
Don't worry about us, we felt bad about you losing your rear end and you missed more than we did. We had a great time and your bad luck was a at least a good learning experience for all of us.
Agree'd should something similar ever happen to one of us we'll now have that experience to fall back on. Shame it came at the price of your diff though
The trip was still great fun though! Some of those trails were much more adventurous than I was expecting I have to say. After feeling a bit dwarfed next to the rest of you all, there were certainly a few moments I thought "you have to be kidding how the heck am I going to pull this off?" lol
In the end it was all choosing the right line putting my faith in the willfully thin stock skid plates and waiting for the sound of the dam resonator trying to rip it self off.
Up until that trip I'd played around in the mud, snow, and sand a bit here and there but certainly nothing like those trails. I was thoroughly impressed with my truck given the little work I have done to it. I was even impressed with the low range gearing, made crawling along some of those trails much easier. I suspect the 3.73's helped that quite a bit.
It was quite the learning experience, really got a chance to get to know my truck. Finally getting a feel for my clearances and such, where the limits are etc.
Next trip I'll have some legit armor finally and a set of stiffer Z71 springs for the back to keep that rear from sagging from the weight of all the junk I pack. After that its time to start day dreaming about a front bumper and a winch.
