After fellow ORTB member Brandon (BigBadBowtie) came out and rescued my truck from a rutted out trail near a campsite, he led me to a spot he found over near the Blue Ridge WMA. Sorry the majority of these photos are screen captures from my low-res dashcam. I'll be sure to document future trips more :)

Entering the area:

Coming up to the first major clearing/overlook area

The area was full of these very steep drops, the pictures really don't do them justice at all:

Another moderately steep climb, even though it doesn't look like much on the camera:

After a while, we found a nice little clearing and hopped out for a photo op:

Very fun trip, I'll be sure to document more of them :)

Looks like a fun trip! I think we here all know that pictures never do steep inclines any justice.

Yeah, but hey, if the pictures don't do it justice, it's just all the more reason to keep going back :)

It's been so nice having the Tread Wrights! It's almost as if I have 4wd! I'm working on getting the recovery video online Cody, My laptop likes to shut down midway into the upload.

Update: Video uploaded. :lurk:

Cody's first words "Roadie and James are going to kill me for getting stuck like this"
Me "oh don't worry this thing records sound too!"

BTW Cody, I'll take you up on that beer offer Just make that 6 pack a 12 pack of Miller and we'll be even for all of the searching for you all! LOL

Good recovery, but you didn't get to use the stretchy strap for it's intended purpose. Looked like you bounced very lightly off it once, then gave it gas. In the process of giving it gas, you lost traction - evidence by the flying dirt. It worked fine for you, but if you want to get technical, you basically just did a static extraction. Next time, if the first bounce doesn't work, reverse and try a bit more speed. You'll make less ruts that way.

The video Brandon posted is inside the Blue Ridge WMA, off the Jones Creek Road trail, by the campsites. The pictures at the beginning of this thread are near the WMA, but not in it.
