I got way too frustrated awaiting a day for when everyone had gas and time, so I decided to go on a solo run to a local spot...one that differed from all the rest in a unique and surprisingly legal way.
This spot tends to cater to the quads and dirtbikes, but a truck can get back there to explore and muck around. The area also provides nice water crossings, challenging areas, and a nice area to sit back and relax, fish, kayak, or otherwise.

To cut to the chase - it is a bloody island in the Delaware River! Dave and I tried to take as many pictures as possible, but all the challenging spots took camera chances away yet again. The area is small, as I said. There is some mud, water - both deep and shallow, rocks, a trench or dried out creek bed, and some trails with spots that went up to a 2.5 rate. I was thankful I took Dave along - I really needed a spotter in some areas.
There were some locals there - an interesting group who surprisingly believed in the "pack it in pack it out" mentality when it came to their activities there. They were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area, and helped Dave get out of the hole he dug when I let him behind the wheel xD. (It's not his fault thou, we drove in to sugar sand...as they called it).

Photos Below - I'll try to caption. I don't have too many valid ones...but whatever:

The long run along the river - it was extremely shallow out there.

Yeah...dude brought a work van back there. We rescued him.

The open sand pit area...

Don't worry...the wax took the brunt of it.

Dropping in the trench with Dave at the wheel...

...and he sank it...

Lets hear the jokes about the res...(bottle was removed).

(It was at this point that I was shot with mud and muck during the recovery, and we got pissed and stopped using the camera).

This was the "go around" if you didn't want to drop into the trench.

When i got stuck in the wet sand and mud, I hooked up the tow strap, as you see in the pictures, but we didn't use it. A rather large gentleman sat on the bumper and a bunch of other guys pushed the truck down the ledge after i dug out around the front real well. I just looped around in the creek and came out the other entrance. No biggie.

Nope - drove out to it - across a shallow creek like part of the river. Solid ground layer all the way up to it...
