It's like 6mins longer of a trip for you than it is for me, not that far. Mike,Kyle, and Matt all drive at least 10hrs one way, that's our round trip.

I've been to Harrisonburg Virginia/Shenandoah NP several times. It isn't a bad ride for us.

I've been wanting to explore the north area of the Monongahela NF, but I'm afraid I don't know enough about it to say it would be a great trip. I can contact a ranger station though, and see what they may suggest. From the map there seem to be some good remote roads, but I have no idea what they would actually be like.

I know it's a little farther for some of you, but it's just nearly what Kyle, Matt, and I drive every time to get to VA... Does anybody have any interest in doing this in SE KY (Near Pineville, KY)? It's the same 10-11 hours from Cherry Hill NJ / Philly as the 3 of us go to all the TECORE events, and this way, more of the southern guys can come, as well...

(BTW, it's free to wheel and camp there)

Gorgeous area of the country. I've been to that part of Kentucky. (I've been up and down 81 from Harrisburg Pa to basically Georgia)

Let me talk to Josh about that. Fuel is concern. Google maps says 11 hours and 33 minutes from my driveway to their parking lot.

Thats getting over 14 hours for me up in CT. The main reason for me personally not going to the spring TECORE is distance.

What about ohio or northern KY. The main thing holding me up is distance 16 hours in a SAS TB or in a 2500 and a trailer. For the Price of gas to go there I can jump on the group ship the Jeeps to MOAB for a week and wheel that a local club is doing in October. I am thinking at most I will be able to do one big trip a year or two if I cut out my weekend runs I normally do

The KY wilderness place sounds great; if there is interest, lets start another thread for that trip, as I think it's too far away to be called 'TECORE'.

I'm betting this thread will turn into the FALL tecore thread.

You're probably right, James... Might as well do the summer one in KY, and just do another fall TECORE...

I agree. Id love to figure out if there was something more north. Theres a park in PA (central) Rausch Creek. Its not free, but its a more centralized northern area.

Rausch Creek Off Road Park is a membership-based facility. There are no pre-requisites or waiting lists. All drivers and passengers must sign a membership application & liability waiver. Drivers and passengers age 16 and up are required to become members of the park which costs $15 per year and is good for one year from the date you join. Membership cards are given out when you join.

Children age 15 and younger are free, however, we require a parental waiver. All members under the age of 18 also require a parental waiver.

The daily entrance fee is $35.00 for the vehicle and driver. Passengers age 16 and up are $7.00 each (When a passenger joins the park, the $7.00 fee is waived that day). We offer free primitive camping for our members.

We've had discussion about RC...I don't necessarily know if everyone was on board with that.

This is a total bummer. Crayton...anyone...if you're planning to do something big OUTSIDE of south/Central Jersey, PM me...text me...add me on Facebook..whatever. I have a feeling I am going to end up losing track of this post since its died.
