This idea started as a shake-down run for my buddy Kevin's Rubicon after rebuilding the axles and such, but who needs an excuse, really?

Planning on showing up at Badlands around 9:00AM on Saturday Sept. 3rd, and wheeling until mid-late afternoon, and heading home... Anybody's welcome to come. It will be pretty informal, but I would like to have a good count of who will be there, so we know who all to wait for in the morning... Doesn't have to be a TB or anything... Could be on quads or dirt bikes for all I care.

We're not planning on going too hardcore so mod level doesn't have to be too crazy, and we've got a couple winches and snatch straps if(when) anybody gets hung up...

CBs are highly suggested, but I have a handheld with a magnet antenna that somebody can borrow if needed, and Kyle has at least 1 handheld... If you are coming and don't have one, please let us know so we can bring extras!

I don't know if anybody's going to be able to come on short notice on a holiday weekend, but I'll start this off:

1. Bartonmd (TB or truck)
2. Kevin (Rubicon)
3. Hardtrailz (should be able to make it)
4. Regulator

I need to talk to the wife this evening, but I am 90%.

To think I was trying to go to Cedar Point this weekend, this trip will be a lot more fun.

It was a great day! I did my best to push the truck to its limits, as well as myself. In the picture that you see with my drivers rear tire up and Kevin standing on my rear bumper, I truly thought that a few more inches and I was going to lose the truck.

I will freely admit that I am learning how to wheel at the same time that I am learning this trucks capabilities. I have no offroad experience, except time in the drivers seat of a Humvee while in the Army. I don't consider that wheeling though because if an obstacle got in our way we just pushed it over!

Thanks to Mike, your armor certainly saved my truck today!!! Thanks to Kyle, you bugged me for so long to get my truck off the ground and in the air and have taught me a lot since then. It is certainly appreciated guys!!!

Here are my pictures from the day. Photobucket Archive

It was a heck of a good time, Matt!

I'm not even sure you could have gone over there, even if you had continued to steer to the left side, because the wall was there on that side, which would have hit your bumper... It was pretty hairy, though...

I think you did a hell of a job, Matt. And I must say, I am pretty impressed with how well you rig is progressing. I would love the chance to make a pilgrimage that way to an event with all of you out there.

Yeah, the rock garden that I went up in January without much problems turned into not even close to passable by me, when it had a bunch of boulders thrown in it, which you can see in the videos... We were stacking rocks for Matt to get to where video above was, for like 20 minutes...
