Been missing the West Coast thread!!.. I'm pretty booked up this year, I have a cruise in October that most of my vacation days are saved for. And I have quite a few trips down the Lower Rogue this year, which is a 3-4 day rafting trip with nothing but what you have on the boats!!.. Bill, you should come with sometime, Its right up your expeditionary avenue, or anybody else for that matter!!! Unless your afraid of the water.. :flower:

But, If you were to set a trip up, Tahoe would definately be the furthest I could go... not like there is a 400 mile difference between the two locals your talkin!! :poke:

Either way, if I can make it I will be there. Maybe I will get the money saved up after the vacation to get my lift done along with the Z71 springs.

Fall would be nice. Maybe we would even get a little snow... my vacation time resets in august, so I would certainly have some days. Maybe if teebes can get on here, him and bill and I and some of the other california peeps can have something this summer and then maybe hit tahoe in the fall with you NW guys.

I would be up for a week long trip in the fall. Probably run trails along the way, saving a few days in the middle for the meetup in Tahoe.

On another note (and I'll start a new thread later), I'll probably be heading up to BB or the sequoia's for a long July 4th weekend trip for those in socal.

Now that I'm single, I'm significantly more available... just trying to get Bill and teebes on the wagon, since they have some cooool setups. Also trying to figure out a location still. Mojave Road anybody?

My offroad calendar is filling quickly; not sure I'll be able to swing anything till around October now.

What's the latest thought on timeline and locale?

Mojave Road in October sounds nice... otherwise, we could go out to panamint or somewhere around there... I'm not too familiar with that area though. Any places to recommend, Greg? You know many more places to both wheel and camp than I do.

Are we looking for SoCal locations or MidCal? :friday: We'll probably want to stick to some elevation though, desert locations will still be pretty warm during October.

I would think more mid Cali. I know Donny wants to come down, if he can, and maybe a few of the others from up north. Donny and I were talking about this when we met for lunch when I drove through Vancouver.

I'd like to come down. I'm going to be in Redding on Sept 18-20 for a wedding.

We'll have to see what works for others... although another trip to Cali so soon might not be in the cards for me.

Yeah, I think MidCal would be best. Elevation is a plus. Do you know of anything in Sequoia NF area? That could be really cool. Ideally we'd be able to get Johnny and Zero and bgwolfpack to show too, and have our own TECORE thing, only better since we're the best coast ;)

So I sort of flipped through the thread, and was wondering are we any closer to a time frame and location? It seemed a few suggested ones kind got shot down or am I reading wrong? I can make any location in California for any timeframe with one week notice but would prefer two weeks or more.

I'm figuring October with early November being the latest before the good MidCal locations are closed for winter, and just waiting on teebes or bill to help me figure out location. I don't know of too many trails, as this is the first vehicle I've ever taken on these kinds of trips, so if we can figure out location, I'll try and find a date that works for everybody.

Come on Bill, Greg, somebody with more trail knowledge than me!
