So who's up for the first trip of '010? Anyone interested in loose sand training out in the dunes? Or maybe some cold weather wheeling up in Big Bear down to Johnson Valley?

I'm hoping to get out around mid - late January.

Post up :friday:

You talking 3-4 day? All depends on a new job for me. Should know by the 10th or so. You just did Mojave, but for the wintertime I was interested in the Bradshaw Trail from the Salton Sea to the Colorado River, and around Joshua Tree park.

High altitude cold weather camping is less interesting with my ground tent than with your trailer, heater and heat-generating dog. :finger:

But if I'm working, then by springtime I might get a RTT. Probably a Maggiolina for even faster setup.

I would be down to go, But I dont want to get into snow with 2wd. Snow on pavement is fine but I dont think I could handle it off the pavement

I'll pretty much go anywhere at this point, so leaving the decision making up to the masses. I'd prefer 3-4 days, Thur - Sun or Fri - Mon would be best for me.

I would be down for a trip, wouldnt go if it was a snow trip though. Maybe we go to a different part of plaster city area and I bring my brother along and dedicate a day to dirtbikes and quads??

I was lookin forward to snow driving, but I'm up for a desert trip if the consensus is sand instead. My availability to go will depend on the situation with my new job, but I don't foresee a problem with 3 days... 4 might be pushing it though.

Multi-day trips in the snow wouldn't be that much fun, unless folks are really into it. However, if we head towards Joshua Tree, we could spend one day up in the mountains and then retreat to slightly warmer temps for camping.

I like the Joshua Tree idea... Not as long a drive for me as Borrego, and I've never been there.

As long as there are some tougher trails and not just sand roads. I don't want to go pussy footing around every day :D :finger:

In case others haven't figured it out, majority of my posts are http://lmgtfy.com/?q=sarcasm in nature.

I know you were being sarcastic... we need a tongue-in-cheek smiley (and a swedish chef smiley, but that's another matter)
