Started as a random "lets find snow" trip with a good friend of mine. She just finished her last final for the semester and decided she wanted to go do something. So we decided Palomar Mountain it is. Didn't expect there to be much snow, but we were hoping for more than this. Oh well We still got to see parts of the mountain we have never seen.

So after searching around on the mountain, seeing tiny patches of snow, PLENTY of young deer, and taking a few pictures, we decided it was time to head down again. Here is the two pictures I took from our stops.

So I see a sign at the top that says Nate Harrison grade road, and thinking to myself I knew there was a road with that name at the bottom. We started to go down it, and after a quarter mile or so I was about to turn around because the road up top was super washed out, then I saw a Park employee and asked him if it was a safe trip to go down this way. He informed me that it was and asked if we had any Beer or smokes we could give him. Both of us are underage and neither of us smoke, so we had to tell him we didnt. He said it was fine and said when we get home we should look up the history of the road.

Sorry for the novel of a post and onto the rest of the few pictures I took.

It was awesome, the whole route is I believe 8 miles. I do plan on going up the mountain probably next week via this road. Also hopefully earlier in the day so I can take pictures with the sun behind me.

Edit here is a map of the trail

Hey! You gotta call me when you're planning stuff like this. Not so I can tag along, but I could have told you Nate Harrison was safe. It used to be horrible until they graded it a couple of years ago. It's the trail I first tried out the new coilovers on a few weeks ago. Plenty of nice stuff in Ramona that's scenic, more remote, and doable with 2WD. Even if there wasn't snow there. I should work on a list for you to check off as time permits. North side of Palomar Mountain has a fantastic ridge road for better scenery to the north. Buy a Cleveland National Forest map sometime if you see one in a bookstore. Or let me know and I can pick one up next time I go past Ramona's ranger station.

Whoa!! Definately make a list!! I had no clue we were even going on this trip or I would have called to see if you wanted to go along!! There is alot more to that mountain than I ever imagined.

I've been on most all the forest roads up there on the north side. The south is mostly private or tribal land, and not as driveable. There's just no easy way to get from south to north unless you drive up to rt 79 in Temecula and start from there. Check the "current conditions" page at http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/cleveland/conditions/ for trail openings after you get a map.

Im not even looking for anything right now, I just want to figure out what I want to do in life and not have to deal with a chick at the same time (unless it was this chick lol). But seriously I just dont want a girl clouding future plans. I have always done things for other people and put other people before me and thats why the last GF messed me up so bad that I dont wanna subject a chick to my craziness for now. Just gotta do things for myself for a while ya know?

If you can't be a dick to her remind her you have one... and that you care about her or something like that.
