I think if we ever got more than 10 offroad-equipped GMT360s together, we'd reach critical mass and explode... into aftermarket support

-edit: I just noticed... if we go to Colorado, taking the 15, we go straight through Las Vegas :friday: .

It's not a matter of money... it's more a matter of taking off the time from work. I have a hard enough time taking off a long weekend... not enough days in a year!

I still say... lets put a national meet on the back burner for a couple years... realistically.

I would vote for a Colorado meet... maybe around the Colorado Springs area... lots and lots of trails, beautiful scenery, and right next to my house :finger: . My driveway has room for y'all and the door is always open  .

Depends on where we plan to go. If we head towards Utah or Colorado, I wouldn't care if no one else made it :finger: :finger: It wont be so much to meet and hang out as in it will be to conqueror trails, IMO. 2WD be ware.. hehe :drive: :poke:

I'm sort of in agreement as to Colorado, regardless if it turns out to be another West Coast meet. Now I just need the money... *busts out piggy bank*

I will be making a trip to Arches and Canyonlands Nat. Parks near Moab this summer. Could make it work out to meet some of you there. Any interest? Has anyone else spent time there. I've been there twice in the last ten years but can't find my way in or out without a map.

Absolutely!!! I still need to finish my trip report as I haven't chronicled those portions yet. Gorgeous area and would love to plan more time out in that region.

Teebes, if you could post up what you have pic wise of that area it might spur others to seriously look at a meet there. Remember if you come from the east that Vail is on the way and also Central City and Black Hawk are up HWY 6 just out of Denver. Don't rush through Grand Junction either without checking out the Hot springs pool or the old whore houses down near the railroad tracks.

Does this mean you would entertain going again your just offering your research material?

This area still won't be conducive to luring the East side guys to drive anywhere very far away. Kansas corn fields aren't much of a draw either. Black hills maybe. But even still, useless if they don't show up. :slap:
The Roadie wrote:As long as the "central" location is calculated as a weighted distance to interesting/challenging/scenic/and world-class offroading. :safari: Socal is just about balanced by Colorado, so the epicenter in my humble opinion would be Moab or Grand Staircase-Escalante, UT.

Regional meets make a LOT more sense. And they get exponentially tougher to put together the more folks you have.

This is probably the best scenario for all involved.

I also think this should be put on the back burner for now...

Plus I don't have any interest with the Mid West at all. I'd rather go all the way to atleast Utah/Colorado to do some wheelin'. And I sure hope I get to do that someday... would really love to move out that way in the future.

For now I'd like to get in on the next TECORE and do some exploring where ever that goes down.

Would LOVE to back to Utah as soon as I get employed again. In 4-5 days you can't even scratch the highlights of the Moab area, let alone the rest of the state. I've been exploring Borrego for five years now, maybe 40+ trips, and have just started slowing down choosing new trails to go on from the 500 miles of official ones. Another problem is that OLD trails change constantly due to rockfall, sand flow, and just plain time of day changing the sun angles for pictures, so I've been going back to old familiar ones to discover new things.

:Iagree: I think it should be put on the back-burner until we can get enough people that would actually be able to make it!!

And think, in a couple years, allot of you shouldn't have to ask your mom or dad if its ok to go or not!!! :finger: :raspberry:
