And on top of that I have work till probably 7 tonight. After work I will be going to Albertsons to get chips, some wood, some soda, and I believe thats it.
So next thing is, Bill, where do you wanna meet up and have you set a time for us to leave?

Some of the larger ones still do, though you might have to call around. It's kinda sad that Radio Shacks have basically turned into cell phone kiosks
On another note, I might still have my old shitty magnetic mount antenna. I'll pack it if I stumble across it.
The Roadie wrote:I think I have my old mag mount, too. Fry's sells 'em. Truck stops are non-existent down this far south. Walmart has some cheapies as well.

Book mark it. I'll throw up a test transmission soon.
Nick, 5AM at the bottom of my driveway?
Just finished a phone interview for the job I've been obsessing over - went PERFECTLY. The guy who called was like a long-lost twin. Only thing that can screw it up is if more technically qualified candidates come along who have already used the exact model of equipment they're looking to babysit. Otherwise I meet all the requirements for experience and mindset, but it's the equivalent of being an expert trailvoy troubleshooter and applying for a job at a Hertz rental fleet maintenance depot, where they mostly have Fords.

Anticipate first thing will be to run down Borrego Mtn. dropoff, hike the slot, down to San Filipe Wash east to cut across trail to Pumpkin Patch. Then north to Calcite Mine Trail, and south again on Truckhaven Trail to Hawk Canyon. Probably be around Calcite Mine around lunchtime.

The Roadie wrote:We tend to go around the OW OHV area because of the annoying gnat-like buzzing kids on bikes and micro-ATVs. Anza Borrego state park is better for wheeling because you have to be street legal and it cuts down on the asshat factor. But the only way to get to Pumpkin Patch is through Arroyo Salado, so we tolerate it for a bit. 500 miles of street-legal-only trails in the park. But OW has some of the best vault toilets and the dumpsters.

-edit: will have FRS on and be at Bill's indicated location in Hawk Canyon when you guys get there... listening starting at 0600
