So I ended up camping for a week outside of Bend, OR and spent three different days looking for Edison Ice Cave. A few excursions later and many more maps, we never did find it, but we did have a very nice offroading experience none the less. Hopefully we'll find it next time!

Me driving, can kind of see the trail out front:

Parked, have to hike in. We are on FS Rd 600 off of highway 45:

This kind of shows the terrain, it's a sandy mix about 3 inches deep with volcanic rock. Not bad though, used to be a gravel road several decades ago, some large rocks but embedded pretty low.:

The next day we took FS RD 4525, a long gravel road that bridges Cascade Lakes Highway to 45, we then turned onto a "gravel road" 4526, which was way thinner then FS Rd 600. Not a lot of pics, my camera guy couldn't get his head out the window or get out of the truck. Loose rocks 9 inch plus, same 'sand' dirt/gravel in places with no base, and some really nice large rock with steep angles. The pictures don't show any of it  . Here's the pics I did get:

Me parked at the base of a rock outcropping, kinda shows the texture of what I drove on:

The third day we went back FS Rd 600, then walked up to FS Rd 630. Didn't find the ice cave, we would have had more time to look if the truck could have driven up all the way. Too many downed trees, would have taken more time to cut or pull then worth it. Stopped by the red rock quarry they used to use back when the roads up there were paved red:

Next time we'll find it, but some awesome offroading, and my first time offroading at that. :excited:
