So we took our first outing and I need to clean up a few of the pictures tonight before posting. But this road take you about 2000 feet above the lake to the cell phone towers. It is a good beginner trip that I would say 90% is a 1.5 rating with the last mile being a 2.0 because 4wd is really prefered due to the grade and loose footing of the rock and shale.

Here is the view from the top, more later.......

There are a few of the TB but not real good ones. You see, there was another road we wen up that was more like a 2.5, but there was no where to stop and take a good shot because there was the wall and the dropoff and well, not much else and my wife was not gettign out!

ok, here we go. This one is misleading. I am 15 feet away and holding the camera above my head. Doesnt look that steep but it is.

More. I wish I had a better pic to show you the grade here. 4low needed here, steep and so-so footing. At one stretch the smaller rocks were softball size and the big were basketball size. Water was running down the edge for about 100 yards and was only 6 onches deep so no big deal there. The road was only about 8 feet wide at one point with a 500 foot drop.

I was wide here so you could pull over but when I did it was about 4-6 inches deep of silt and shale

So here is one more. I did not do that great of a job on the pics but I will get better. It was the first trip out with this rig so I spent most of my time paying attention and safety.

You will find that some times, 1 inch of water is all it takes to make things exponentially harder.

I suppose that is very true. And by the way, I plan on taking you up on that trip to the GP later this summer.

Nice pictures man. Looks like you guys had a great time. Really nice views as well. I hate going on trails that have steep drop offs lol.
