SteveTB03 crashed at my place last night on his way up to Seattle. My duty as a good host was to also show him the local wheeling grounds.
Steve is 2WD, so last weekend when I was up, I scouted out a couple trails that were 2WD friendly to take him on. Turns out it's a good thing I did. Apparently my splined disconnect decided to die between Sunday and today. This was confirmed when I backed up into some slick stuff to turn around and couldn't get out. Couple that with my bad G80 clutches and I was 2WD open diff for the day.
No matter, I promised Steve we'd go get dirty.
Steve's internet connection is dicey at his new place, so I collected the pics we took to make a thread. You've seen me in most of these places already, so I'll post pics of Steve and his TB. Maybe he can get this Trail Ready rank now.
Steve and his buddy Marakumo (hope I spelled that right).
At first I didn't think this pic turned out. After seeing it blown up I kinda like it.
One of the trails we went up/down.
Pose shot.
Took Steve to a place where there's a few up and downs to play on.
I'd climbed all of little hills here before, but we decided to see if Steve could get up them in 2WD. I had video of him trying this one out, but it got corrupted. Result pics will have to suffice.
This did not go as planned:
Some cool flex pics though...
I've climbed it before in 4WD. To be fair, I tried it in my new 2WD state as well, twice. I was a bit more aggressive and made it... farther.
Here's video evidence of my failure...
Fun was had.
But I need to fix my truck.
